The engineering behind
Clear CPET
Clear CPET
Clear crystallised PET packaging
Applying proven PET orientation principles to thermoforming.
Clear CPET is enabled by introducing controlled molecular orientation during forming. Drawing on principles established in PET preform and bottle manufacture, VeroCup applies a broader engineering perspective to thermoforming - using the mould and forming strategy to influence clarity, toughness and final product performance.
CONTROLLED ORIENTATION
Carefully managed stretching during forming creates molecular orientation within the PET structure. This is fundamental to achieving Clear CPET and can also improve toughness and overall product performance.
PERFORMANCE FOR
DEMANDING APPLICATIONS
Clear CPET can be engineered for conventional oven and microwave reheating, hot-fill applications or, alternatively, for chilled and frozen foods - while retaining the clarity and performance required by the application.
MOULD-BASED ENVIRONMENT
The innovation is developed through the mould, material behaviour and forming strategy rather than through a dedicated proprietary machine platform.
DESIGNED FOR THE NEXT
GENERATION OF FOOD PACKAGING
The Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) is changing the way food packaging is engineered. Packaging must increasingly balance recyclability, recycled content, material efficiency and product performance. VeroCup's engineering approach helps manufacturers optimise these competing requirements while maintaining the functionality expected from modern CPET food packaging.
Transferring proven PET knowledge into thermoforming opens possibilities that conventional approaches may not reveal.

A BROADER ENGINEERING PERSPECTIVE
VeroCup's approach to Clear CPET has been shaped by many years of developing PET processing technologies, including PET bottle preforms, stretch blow moulding, thermoforming, InjectForm and CPET.
Rather than viewing thermoforming as an isolated process, proven engineering principles are transferred from across the PET industry. This broader technical perspective provides a much larger engineering toolbox and helps reveal opportunities that conventional thermoforming approaches may overlook.
The best innovations often come from transferring proven knowledge from one manufacturing discipline into another.
