The engineering behind BaseLite
Precision preform geometry, controlled moulding and measurable performance.
BaseLite combines a longer, thinner preform body with a lighter base design. The objective is not simply to remove material, but to redistribute it more efficiently while preserving moulding quality and the finished bottle performance required by the application.
POLARISED-LIGHT QUALITY
The balanced, symmetrical pattern indicates excellent concentricity and a well-controlled moulding process with low, evenly distributed residual stress - characteristics recognised as desirable for consistent stretch blow moulding.
REDUCED REHEATING
DEMAND
Less material in the base means less energy and time are required to bring the preform to the correct blowing temperature. This can support improved reheating efficiency and shorter processing cycles.
EXCELLENT CONCENTRICITY
BaseLite's longer, thinner geometry is engineered to minimise core shift. Development trials on a 135 mm preform achieved approximately 0.03 mm core deflection, compared with an industry figure of around 0.13 mm.
VALIDATED AGAINST
PERFORMANCE
Weight reduction is assessed against equivalent bottle requirements. BaseLite development is validated through moulding quality, stretch blow performance and the mechanical demands of the finished bottle - not appearance alone.
At least 3% preform weight reduction - including on already optimised designs.
